Full course description

The course covers the action of OTC drugs and other chemicals on the various organ systems of the body. A variety of OTC medications will be covered, including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). Current applications of pharmacology in chiropractic practice will be emphasized. Completion of this course is a requirement for the qualification in the use of OTC drugs and chiropractic clinical practice.

Develop a working knowledge of the general principles and applications of pharmacology and toxicology

Become familiar with common prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications (OTC's) and poisons

Develop a practical understanding of pharmacological agents important to chiropractic practice in the state of Oregon

Address the requirements as set forth by the the state of Oregon for all first-year licensed chiropractors
